If you wish to receive medical treatment outside Northern Ireland, it’s important to understand how it works and the assistance you may be able to access.

This guidance applies to patients who are travelling outside Northern Ireland to access healthcare assessment and/or treatment. It is not relevant for travel within Northern Ireland for health and social care services.

Primary Care Multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs)

A new model for primary care multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs) has been developed.

First Contact Physiotherapists, Social Workers and Mental Health Practitioners will work alongside our existing practice team to provide enhanced access to health and social care services within a primary care setting. 

First Contact Physiotherapy and Mental Health Practitioners

 

As part of the new, practice based multi-disciplinary team, our GP Practice now has a First Contact Physiotherapist and Mental Health Practitioner.

You can book this directly without first seeing your GP.

  

Prescriptions:

Due to the increase in demand the practice request that you please allow a minimum of 48 hours i.e. 2 working days to process all prescriptions. (urgent prescriptions and hospital scripts will be issued on the same day). When making your request please state the name of your preferred pharmacy and we will organise the collection.
