If a patient requires Pre or Post treatment following their private treatment THEY WILL NOT be entitled to such support from the GP or secondary care in NI. It is important that you include this in your overall package of care from the Private Healthcare provider.

Prescriptions:
Due to the increase in demand on our telephones, please DO NOT ring the receptionist to check if prescriptions are ready, we do not have time to check. Before collection allow a minimum of 48 hours i.e. 2 working days to process all prescriptions and 72 hours for collection at local nominated pharmacies. (urgent prescriptions and hospital scripts will be issued on the same day).

Pharmacy First
The GPs have directed Reception staff to ask all patients for an overview of their medical problem to help determine the best course of action to help them.
If appropriate, you may booked with GP, first contact physio, a senior mental health professional, Social worker or pharmacist.
We are constantly updating and streamlining our systems in response to a rapidly evolving situation.
Patients attending surgery
If you are asked to attend the surgery, please arrive at your exact appointment time and not earlier for your own safety and that of others as we are trying to limit the number of patients in our waiting area at any one time.
Please wear a face covering to you have a respiratory condition, cold flu etc.
If you are attending an appointment with the Practice Nurse, please wear clothing that will enable quick access to your arm so that she can conduct your vaccination, bloods or BP check quickly and efficiently.
Prescriptions
Please order your repeat prescriptions though our repeat line Tel 02890 608604 or online. Please allow 72 hours for prescriptions to be processed and collected by the chemist. Nominate a local chemist of your choice who will collect your prescription. . Please allow 72 hours for the chemist to also have your prescription ready.

The role of the First Contact Physiotherapists in Practice is to assess patients with soft tissue, muscle or joint pain who will decide on the most appropriate pathway.

Women can now self-refer into the BHSCT Maternity Service without having to visit their GP or Community Midwife

Your mental health practitioner is an expert who can:
- Provide an initial assessment
- Advise on management of your mental health
- Offer short term treatment
- Direct you to appropriate services
- Refer you to specialist mental health services
The Practice will be closed on

Access
Access for disabled persons is through the double doors at the main entrance. All services provided by Ballyowen Health Centre are on ground floor level.
